LIKE A LADY OF THE CASTLE

a fragrant bunch of hand-picked roses is certainly a luxury you would agree. a five minute drive from my home, up and up towards Bishopscourt and slowly along a narrow winding gravel road one happens upon the Chart Farm...tucked away. off the beaten track. a giant rose garden. roses as far as the eye can see and in all their many splendid colours.

upon arrival one receives a bucket and a pair of secateurs and off one goes like a regular lady of the castle to select and hand pick as many roses as ones heart desires.

the view overlooking the entire Constantia Valley is breathtaking. gasp. the air is filled with the perfume of roses. bees humming. ...this is a working rose farm and has not been commercialized in any way.

along a tree lined path.. big flower pots of roses greet you

whaaaa! ... the Constantia Valley basks in all its summer glory. rose perfume floats through the air.

as Oscar Wilde said

"Mere colour

unspoiled by meaning

and unallied with definite form

can speak to the soul

in a thousand different ways"

on my wall. a little painting i did.

the old homestead on the farm.

in my journal... inspired by roses. speaking to my soul.

on my table. bringing me pleasure and delight. contentment.

hope you having fun in your neck of the woods. feeding your 5 senses in ways that please and thrill you.

do you want to see what 'contentment' looks like. okay okay. here we are.

a contented purring pair. aaaah.
